First of all, you, people, who insist we have stolen this name, remember: none of us has ever used Pidgin and we did not had in mind to steal even a slight bit of its popularity. Secondly, those who think this is simple: you must be an exceptionally talented programmers if you say that. Why don't you write your IM client pergola and invent an original name that would not resemble ANY of the existing ones?
Nice little IM app! I like it quite a bit better than OctroTalk, which I was using before. As far as the name "stealing" goes, I think it's clever. Pidgin is a clever name that brings a homophone (pigeon) for a mascot/logo, but is apt for a multi-protocol IM app because it refers to a mixing of languages. "Pigeon!" is alluding to Pidgin, but emphatically insisting that it's different (after all, it speaks less "languages").
