The Mountain View, Calif.-based group invests between $25,000 to $250,000 anonymity in early-stage tech companies, and it has a diverse portfolio of startups from all over the world. The latest group of companies anonymity is 500 Startups’ eighth batch and also the first from its new San Francisco program.
The 28 companies come from Spain, India, anonymity France, Canada, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, Brazil, Taiwan, and Hong Kong as well locations within the U.S. like Las Vegas, Austin, New York City, and more. Some of the companies that caught my attention initially include anonymity celebrity e-commerce platform Equipboard , “chat roulette” for rap battles service Rapt.fm , and event marketplace service Venuespot .
Additionally, 500 Startups is also bringing anonymity in two new partners to its program. The first is long-time entrepreneur Sean Percival, who will focus on Bitcoin investments and distribution. The other is Yahoo veteran Marvin Liao, who will help with our accelerator batches in both San Francisco and Mountain View.
